Kool Drum NOVA blanks arrive, yipeeeee!

Finally, after negotiating for 2 months with a vast metal foundry, a big white van arrived yesterday with 300 freshly pressed Kool Drum blanks. We have made tongue drums for nearly 3 years now from old scrap gas bottles bought from Emmaus. They have brought much joy to us and our customers but there were always problems involved, firstly the gas bottles are not really, strictly speaking for sale, they are horrendously dirty (leading to environmental concerns, old paint, gas residue, peeling zinc coating) and most importantly inconsistancy in thickness and steel composition.

We decided to convert to custom made blanks to correct all these issues and, hey presto.......

we can now launch the new NOVA. The funky little MIG welder from Kemppi will return from a break at the repair shop (under guarantee....yesss) and comes home tomorrow at last.

So its off to the atelier, don the many layers of protective clothing and GET MAKING!!!!
